About ten minutes away from Prince Rupert lies the small community of Port Edward. It is a very cute little hamlet full of some of the nicest houses in the area. Port Edward is also the location of the north pacific cannery. If you are ever in the area, it is definitely a must-see! You can take a guided or non guided tour through the old buildings. Some areas are closed off due to rot and restoration. I recommend seeing it twice - at high tide and low tide - as each tide gives the buildings and area a completely different look. It is a fantastic place for photographs too! Plan on spending at least two or three hours here, there is a lot to see!! :)

Upcoming Adventures!
Sorry I have not updated in a while - it has been SO BUSY! Prince Rupert has been unusually beautiful the last two weeks so it has been especially hard to stay indoors and set up the house! This place is amazing on a sunny day - just stunningly beautiful!
There is so much to do here! Hopefully in the next week of so we will be going on the Metlakatla Hiking Trail (http://northword.ca/june-2012/metlakatla-wilderness-trail), going out on a boat, camping and taking loads of pictures along the way! The Metlakatla is especially exciting - you need to take a ferry early in the morning to get there and often times whales are spotted on the way over! Very exciting! By the end of this week I should have some more photos to share, but for now, here are a few from last week I took while out and about! :)
Have a fantastic day! :)

Officialy living in Rupert!
After a very long 3 day drive we have arrived in Prince Rupert! It is so beautiful... I can hardly wait to get out and take some photos to share! Our moving truck arrives on the 1st of August, just in time to take possesion of our new home! It is always exciting to set up the new house, deciding where everything will go and unpacking things you forgot you even had. Very exciting times!
Over the next few days I will be going around the town and taking lots of photos - the town istelf is very historic, scenic, and beautiful. The harbour is an adventure all in it's own - every day there is something new there, it's never the same.
Once I get settled in here I will be updating every week, so please stay tuned! Thank you for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Blast from the past...
I just wanted to share a few older photos from over the years to start this blog off with a bang! Over the next 5 days I will be busy packing and moving from Edmonton, AB. to Prince Rupert, BC., so I will not get much of a chance to get on here. Once I am settled in Prince Rupert I will be updating at least weekly, so please stay tuned!
Thank you for taking the time to check out my work. If you have any questions or would like to book a session with me, please send me an email at meganashleyphoto@live.ca
